Xbox Launches XP Division to Centralize Film, TV, and Merchandise IP Operations

Xbox is launching XP, a centralized division overseeing film, television, consumer products, and live events across four investment areas: Pictures, Products, Places, and Partnerships. Former Mojang head Kayleen Walters will serve as president of XP, while outgoing Reddit CPO Maria Angelidou-Smith will take over as Mojang CEO starting October 19. The division inherits an active transmedia production pipeline that includes a Minecraft movie sequel, Fallout season 3, a Call of Duty film, and a Diablo animated series for Netflix. The restructuring follows a broader business reset initiated by Xbox CEO Asha Sharma in February, which included widespread layoffs, studio sell-offs, and major structural changes across the gaming unit.
